BullCopra: I achieved something

I will tell you that after being disappointed in the quick leveling in the Old world, Northrend was a breath of fresh air. I still leveled pretty quick, but the number of fun and interesting quest lines grew exponentially. There does seem to be a trend where the quest themes do tend to get repeated in each area.

One quick thing, that I plan to blog about at some point is the quest for rep is done a little different. No need to have a key to do heroics and the instances aren't locked to a specific faction as they were in Outland. You get your rep up with any particular faction by questing for them and once you get to friendly, you can purchase, and this isn't the case with all factions, a tabard that you wear in any 80 instance or heroic and you get rep for that faction. Also, there are Dailies in each zone that are attached to most factions that also help you move up.

I have to say, there is lots to do, and the quests very so much and not having them in one zone keeps them fresh, for me that is. I know a lot of people complain about having to do them over and over, but if you believe its work, then it will be work. If you just sit back have fun and do them with others, they can be very enjoyable and not a grind.

I've heard about the differences of Old World and Outlands compared to Northrend, and I'm trying to keep my expectations as low as possible. I'm a bit prone in picking up the hype and I'm pretty pleased to have passed the worst already. I'm only looking forward in completing the most insane and frustrating quest-chain achievement there is, the Nesingwary expedition one: hated it in vanilla for the mindless killing, the Outlands version was even worse. But I've heard that there are some nice twists in it in the Northrend part. Will see.

I'm pushing my WotLK purchase back till the next patch: Then I'll get the benefits of the new travelling options (and cheaper...), something that irritates me immensely after all this toil for flying mount... they're going to give them almost free to all who enter Outlands, and that sucks.

Grats on 70! I finished the Loremaster achievement in May after a few months of active effort as a fairly casual player (who works full time and is in grad school, lol), and Kalimdor is BY FAR the most difficult continent to complete. Not only because of the lack of flying and high quest count required, but also because when you get towards the last 20-30 quests or so, you are scrounging for things to do. I swore for a while that I wouldn't use it, but I finally broke down out of desperation and started visiting Wowhead. At least that way I could research what dropped items gave quests I might have missed, etc. Honestly, other people's comments and advice went a long way towards helping me get this done, I'm really grateful for that site.

And I had a GREAT time!! Loremaster was a major effort, but I saw parts of the game both in terms of locations and storyline I would otherwise have never seen otherwise. Beautiful scenery, crazy NPC's with crazier requests...it was a blast. Enjoy yourself! And don't forget to turn on the "low level quest" tracker =P

Thanks! I just read from Tobold and some others about how the casual gamers are looking for easier achievement route, and this is exactly that: minimal effort to see the stories and scenery, when you're doing it with high level toon. I'm also helping the lower level people with their group and higher level quests, so I gather the good karma will build up and cause some good to me eventually... :P

I'm looking forward to completing the Old World Loremasters (and explorations) before hitting Northrend, but that is not completely in my hands: it depends immensely on my brothers, as we've decided to hit the WotLK content together. We're all sitting at lv70, but enough fun things to do to bother purchasing the expansion.

Enjoying the game: that's what it's all about. Not about rushing to the end content.

And that doesn't make us M&S's, in goblin terminology.
